We take our users' privacy seriously. We allow our users to create accounts and make submissions without publicly displaying any personally identifiable information if they so choose.
Cookies, Logging & Analytics
Like most websites, we use such web analytics software to log visits to our servers. These systems collect information such as your IP address and referring web page. These give us an idea of how many people are using the site, how they find us, and the sorts of devices in use.
All visits and user actions performed on the Clinikle website use secure encrypted TLS connections. This ensures that your account and payment data cannot be intercepted by a third party.
When you sign up to Clinikle, we collect the following information from you:
- Your display name.
- Your email address.
- Your password, uniquely salted and hashed.
- Device information, such as your browser and operating system (See logging & analytics, above).
- Your IP address. We use this for security reasons, such as detecting fraud and abuse.
Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. While your chosen display name is shown to other users in certain situations, the other information listed above is never revealed publicly. The only outside entity that is given access to your IP address and email is our payment processor, Pin Payments. This is only done if you are submitting a payment.Your password, by way of the cryptographic hash, is not viewable or recoverable. For this reason, forgotten passwords are not retrievable, and in such an event you must request a password reset.
Clinikle does not store your sensitive credit card details on our servers. All sensitive credit card data is handled securely by Pin Payments, and does not come in to contact with our servers in any way. We do however store the personal details associated with your credit card for billing purposes, so we can email you a tax invoice. This data is never shared with other third parties aside from our aforementioned payment processor.
Modifying Your Account
You can modify your account information at any time. Your display name can be changed immediately. Changing your password or email address will require re-authentication. New email addresses will need to be activated within 12 hours, or the account will continue to use the existing email address as normal.
Your account can be removed by logging in first to verify your identity, and then using the contact form to make the request.
Misuse & Law
We may preserve and provide information to relevant authorities where it is necessary to do so. This may be to comply with external legal requests, follow regulations, or address fraud and security concerns.
We may change our policies from time to time. This may be done with or without notice, at any time, as the need arises.
